A few birds in our terrace

Post by mb »

My bird photos are not professional, just a few from a terrace in a condo we used to have in downtown Chicago near both Lake Michigan and the Chicago River where it joins the lake. There were large trees just outside the walls of the terrace on the fifth floor as well as small ones in pots within the terrace. We were surprised, though I guess should have realized - being in the vicinity of the waters and a major fly way even though it was in the center of the city, we were visited by a lot of birds. Here are a few I managed to photograph.
Guess we shouldn't have been surprised to see a downy woodpecker, just weren't expecting it.

Ruby-crowned kinglet? Saw it one morning in a flower pot just outside of our window.
